Sometimes it is shocking to see how fast time goes by. Another twelve months have passed and again it has been a busy year at P.R.Jones and Associates. We have been able to maintain continuity in our team and we appreciate that a familiar smiling face helps to keep our patient visits pleasant and comfortable.
With all the advancing treatments and services being provided by our cosmetic dentist Dr Fayaz Ladak, one of the main developments at our practice was the refurbishment of his surgery. After a lot of detailed planning and designing, patients who visit Dr Ladak will experience a bespoke air conditioned state of the art facility, dedicated to give a comfortable setting and experience to his patients. Patients who are in for long procedures such as implant surgery etc will now have the option to choose their preference in music and temperature. Additionally he has introduced digital radiographs providing immediate results and diagnosis of findings available to view on the many screens present.
Cosmetic Dentistry and Implant surgery are two rapidly expanding areas at our practice. Since making the necessary investment and enhancements to allow Dr Ladak to offer advanced treatments at our practice, dental implants has become a popular, regular and readily available option for all our patients who have lost teeth and wanted a fixed solution. Additionally we are proud to announce that soon we will be adding to our investment by purchasing a 3D CBCT scanner. We will be one of very few dental implant practices in the area to have an onsite Cone Beam CT Scanner. This will enable us to take CT Scans for patients without hassle or outside referral, making the dental implant process easier and more efficient for our patients. Scans are also appropriate for examining buried or complicated wisdom teeth that require extracting and also teeth that require root canal treatments (Endodontics), two areas of interest for our principle dentist Dr Peter Jones.
We have continued as a training practice for new graduates and have had our contract extended to remain a training practice for the year 2016/17. We have been allocated two graduates this coming year, paying tribute to our facility and the high level of training that we are able to provide. Dr Peter Jones, our principle trainer, will be joined by Dr Jacqueline Jones to train our new graduates at the practice. Like Peter, Jacqueline is also in the process of completing a postgraduate certificate in clinical teaching at the University of Leeds. With every new development comes further training and our whole team of associates and nurses are very motivated and dedicated professionals. We have a strong emphasis on professional development and our aim is to give our patients the best care and treatment possible.
Sally Elsworth joined the practice as our dental hygienist therapist. With all the treatments that we provide, maintaining good dental hygiene and gum condition remains a key factor in successful dentistry. Sally gives our patients the option for focused oral hygiene care.
The last twelve months or so have been a period of stabilisation for P.R.Jones and Associates as the Dental profession has seen many changes over the last few years. We have maintained continuity in our team and services and we know that a familiar smiling face can transform a patient’s visit. We have continued as a training practice for new graduates and have recently had our contract extended to remain a training practice for the year 2014/15. All our associates and nurses are very motivated and dedicated professionals. We have a strong emphasis on professional development to ensure that the care and treatment our patients receive is of the highest standards.
Dr Fayaz Ladak has again had a very successful year following on from last years awards. At the end of 2013, he was again shortlisted for the ‘The Best Young Dentist’ award at the prestigious Dentistry Awards. He was also shortlisted at the National Aesthetic Dentistry Awards held in London in March 2014 where he won the patient choice award in Orthodontics. He has continued his focus in cosmetic dentistry having completed more courses and has introduced Fastbraces to the practice as an additional option for teeth straightening. This runs alongside other cosmetic options such as six month smiles, INMAN aligner and Clear aligner systems. The combination of all these options allows him to tackle most cases to straighten patients’ teeth using the best relatively invisible techniques available. There have also been advancements in Tooth Whitening, which has continued to be popular either as a stand alone treatment or an add on to extensive treatments, helping to truly complete smile improvements for our patients. Dr Ladak recently attended an update on tooth whitening and can confidently assess, diagnose and treat all types of discolorations and discrepancies in patient’s teeth in order to produce a brighter, whiter smile. Dr Ladak has maintained his interest in dental implants, the superior solution for missing teeth. Our patients have been very pleased with their treatment and we have received many referrals. Dr Ladak continues to be a valuable asset at P.R.Jones.
Recently, we have also completed a makeover in our practice. We upgraded our computer system for the practice, completed decorative work throughout the practice, introduced signage and have also introduced new uniforms for all our staff. We feel it is important to show you, our patients, that our investment is based around providing and maintaining quality and a comfortable environment for you. As a practice we are regulated and registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This is a government body that also oversees standards in Hospitals, Care Homes and Care services. A recent inspection by the CQC confirmed that all standards were being met. School and residential home visits for the elderly have also continued to be a part of our services. Our aim is to give our patients the best care and treatment possible. Our practice continues to be a part of the BDA Good Practice scheme and has achieved Silver status. This proves that our team is committed to working to the high standards set by our profession’s national association. We cannot do this without a professional, motivated and caring team. However our patients are paramount to our service. Without patients we would not be here. We would therefore appreciate any feed back. If you have any points that you wish to raise please ask to speak to Liz Jones.
